Meaning · English
This is Brahma, Indra, Prajapati, every god, five elements, every creature born of egg, womb, sweat or sprout. All is led by awareness and rests in it. Awareness is Brahman.
The one being described is the knowing in a person, the awareness behind seeing, hearing and thinking. The teacher now says that same awareness is the high gods Brahma, Indra and Prajapati, and also earth, air, space, water and light, and every living thing, from cattle to sprouting plants. Awareness is called the eye that guides all of it and the ground it stands on. Then the last step: Brahman, the reality behind the whole world, is this awareness itself. Nothing sits outside it.
One power line feeds a whole street. The kitchen bulb, the streetlamp, a neighbour's fan and a clinic's fridge all run on the same current, though each looks and works differently. Awareness is that current. The gods, the elements, the horse and the sprouting seed are the fittings, and the knowing in one person runs on that same line.
