Sankatanashana Ganesha Stotram 6

Meaning · English

One who wants learning gains learning; one who wants wealth gains wealth. One who wants children gains children; one who wants liberation reaches the final goal.

The hymn now names what its recitation brings, and it shapes the gift to the person. A student who reads it receives learning. Someone who needs money receives money. A couple hoping for children receives children. And one who longs for release receives the goal itself, the place where the journey ends. Nothing is ranked or judged. No wish is called lower than another. Each kind of asker is met on their own terms, with the very thing they came for.

Picture a village well. One woman lowers a brass pot, a boy a tin bucket, an old man a small cup. The same rope, the same water, yet each comes up holding exactly what their vessel was made for. The one hymn works like that well: what returns takes the shape of what each person brought to it.
