Meaning · English

May the glow of his limbs, sweet with nectar dripping from jasmine in the hair of heaven's women, highest seat of splendour, delight our minds day and night.

What the singer hopes for is a glow: the gathered light of Shiva's limbs. The women of Indra's heaven wear jasmine braided into their hair, and the flowers drip with so much sweet nectar that the scent clings to that light and makes it lovelier still. The glow is called the highest home of splendour. His request is simple. Let it play in our minds day and night and keep widening our joy.

Think of an evening shrine where a small oil lamp burns among fresh jasmine garlands. Step close and the warm light and the sweet smell reach you together, so it is hard to say which one is drawing you in. Shiva's glow works the same way: a brightness that also carries the sweetness of the flowers around it.
