Meaning · English

My self is you, my mind Parvati, my breaths attend you, my body is your house. Pleasure is worship, sleep is stillness, walking circles you, words are hymns, all I do worships you.

The singer stops adding gifts and hands over the giver. Shiva is the self living inside. Parvati, the mountain's daughter, is the singer's own understanding. The breaths are the attendants who travel with the god, and the body is the house he lives in. Then ordinary life gets new names. Tasting and enjoying become worship. Sleep becomes the stillness of deep meditation. Walking becomes circling a shrine. Talk becomes hymn. Whatever gets done, Shambhu, counts as service to him.

Picture someone wearing a wedding ring while washing dishes, driving, signing forms. The ring stays on for the chores, and the chores happen inside the marriage. Each act is ordinary, yet each is done as someone who belongs to another. The verse places the whole day inside that ring: eating, sleeping, walking and talking, all done as Shiva's.
