Meaning · English
His laugh cracks open the lotus-born creator's world-eggs; his glance tears the net of sin. Stern ruler, giver of eight powers, skull-garlanded: I worship Kalabhairava, lord of Kashi.
Two things break, and they break in opposite directions. The creator, born from a lotus, shapes worlds as shells, one after another. Bhairava's open laugh splits that whole row of shells, so all of creation is smaller than his laughter. Then his glance falls on a person, and the net of wrongs they are caught in tears apart. His rule is stern. He grants the eight powers. Around his neck hangs a string of skulls.
A fish caught in a net works at one strand, and every pull tightens three others. Then the fisherman lifts the net and slits it with one stroke of his knife, and the fish is in open water. Sins work like that net, and Bhairava's glance is the knife: the release comes all at once, not knot by knot.

उनकी हँसी कमल से जन्मे सृष्टिकर्ता के ब्रह्मांड-अंडों को फोड़ देती है; उनकी दृष्टि पाप का जाल चीर देती है। कठोर शासक, आठ सिद्धियों के दाता, मुंडों की माला पहने: काशी के स्वामी कालभैरव को मैं भजता हूँ।
दो चीज़ें टूटती हैं, और वे उलटी दिशाओं में टूटती हैं। कमल से जन्मा सृष्टिकर्ता लोकों को खोलों की तरह गढ़ता है, एक के बाद एक। भैरव की खुली हँसी खोलों की उस पूरी पंक्ति को फोड़ देती है, इसलिए समूची सृष्टि उनकी हँसी से छोटी है। फिर उनकी दृष्टि किसी व्यक्ति पर पड़ती है, और वह जिन बुराइयों के जाल में फँसा है, वह जाल फट जाता है। उनका शासन कठोर है। वे आठ सिद्धियाँ देते हैं। उनके गले में खोपड़ियों की माला लटकती है।
जाल में फँसी मछली एक धागे पर ज़ोर लगाती है, और हर खिंचाव तीन दूसरे धागों को और कस देता है। फिर मछुआरा जाल उठाता है और चाकू के एक ही वार से उसे चीर देता है, और मछली खुले पानी में होती है। पाप उसी जाल की तरह काम करते हैं, और भैरव की दृष्टि वह चाकू है: छुटकारा एक साथ मिलता है, गाँठ-गाँठ करके नहीं।
