Meaning · English

The year represents the Creator. It has two paths. Those who rely on ritual and charity reach the moon, but they eventually return to earth.

Time is viewed here as a cycle linked to the Creator. There are two directions a soul can take after death. The Southern path is for those who focused on good deeds and traditional offerings. While these people reach a peaceful place like the moon, it is a temporary stay. Because they still have worldly desires, such as wanting to be born again as parents, they must return to the physical world.

A hotel stay is like the Southern path. You have a comfortable room and every amenity for a while, but you do not own the building. Eventually, your checkout time arrives, and you must leave the hotel to return to your original home.
