Prashna Upanishad 3.11

य एवं विद्वान् प्राणं वेद न हास्य प्रजा हीयतेऽमृतो भवति तदेषः श्लोकः

Meaning · English

Anyone who understands these truths and knows the nature of the vital breath ensures their lineage does not fade and attains a state beyond death.

Knowing the vital breath is not about biological breathing, but understanding the energy that powers life. When a person recognizes how this force operates, they break the cycle of loss. Their legacy and descendants are preserved, and they themselves pass beyond death. This knowledge shifts a person from a temporary existence to a lasting one.
