Prashna Upanishad 5.3

स यद्येकमात्रमभिध्यायीत स तेनैव संवेदितस्तूर्णमेव जगत्याभिसंपद्यते । तमृचो मनुष्यलोकमुपनयन्ते स तत्र तपसा ब्रह्मचर्येण श्रद्धया संपन्नो महिमानमनुभवति

Meaning · English

If one focuses only on the first sound, they quickly return to the physical world. Through discipline and faith, they find a life of distinction.

Focusing on the first part of the sacred syllable leads the person back to the human realm. They are guided by the oldest hymns of the tradition. Once they arrive back on earth, they do not start over blindly. Instead, they use self-control, a dedicated lifestyle, and sincere trust to experience a higher quality of existence and a sense of greatness within the human experience.

A diver who dips only a few feet below the surface before swimming back up. They return to the shore changed, carrying a new perspective and a steadier breath that allows them to walk on land with more grace than they had before they entered the water.
