The Sound of Brahman
Prashna Upanishad 5.2
Meaning · English
Satyakama, the sound Om is the highest Brahman and also the lower Brahman. Because of this, one who knows it reaches either destination through it.
Brahman refers to the totality of existence. It exists in two forms: the highest, which is beyond physical change, and the lower, which is the manifest world. The syllable Om acts as a bridge between these two states. Since the sound encompasses both the subtle and the material, anyone who understands this sound can navigate toward whichever level of reality they are seeking.
A single key that fits both the front door of a house and the safe inside. The door represents the lower world and the safe represents the highest. Just as one tool opens both locks, one sound provides access to both levels of existence.
