Prashna Upanishad 6.2
Meaning · English
The sage answered him: that being is found right here inside the physical body, the one from whom these sixteen different aspects emerge.
The answer clarifies that the being in question is not in a distant place. This figure exists within the human frame. The sixteen parts mentioned are the various functions and elements of existence that originate from this single source. Instead of looking outward, the focus shifts to the internal center where all these diverse qualities first appear and find their basis.
Think of a movie projector. The screen shows a complex world of colors, movement, and characters, but none of those things exist independently. They all emerge from a single lamp inside the machine. The lamp is the source, and the sixteen parts are the images projected from it.
