Vasudeva looked upon Krishna and Sankarshana with great joy and devotion. He spoke to them not as a father to sons, but as a seeker before the Divine. He told them that he recognized them as the Supreme Person, the source of all existence. He praised them as the very essence of the elements—the fragrance of the earth, the strength of the wind, and the sound of the primordial Om. To Vasudeva, they were the consciousness within the intellect and the power that creates and dissolves the universe. He confessed that the world is blinded by the illusions of the material qualities—Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas—and that he too, bewildered by Krishna's Maya, had let his own life pass in self-interest.

Vasudeva continued, his voice filled with awe. He admitted that he had once been blinded by the desires of the senses, and for that, he sought the refuge of their lotus feet. He acknowledged that they had descended to earth specifically to relieve the world of its heavy burden, and he apologized for any lack of understanding he had shown during their time in a human form. Hearing these words, the Lord of the Satvatas, Krishna, smiled. He spoke with a gentle and clear voice, telling his father that his words were a beautiful expression of the truth. He explained that the one Soul is the self-luminous light, and though it appears as many different beings and elements, it remains one.

Devaki was filled with wonder, for she had heard that her two sons had brought back their teacher's dead son. She approached Krishna and Rama, her eyes brimming with tears as she remembered the children she had lost to the cruelty of Kamsa. She addressed them as the Lords of Yoga and the creators of the universe, reminding them that they had come to earth to save it from the weight of oppressive kings. With a trembling heart, she made a request. Just as they had fetched Sandipani's long-dead son from the realm of the dead as his guru-dakshina, she asked them to use their divine power to bring back her sons who had been killed by Kamsa, so that she might see them once more. Moved by their mother's grief, Rama and Krishna agreed to grant her wish.

Using their divine Maya, Krishna and Rama entered the realm of the demon-king Bali. Bali was overjoyed to see the Supreme Being and immediately bowed low, welcoming them with the highest honors. He washed their feet, and with his followers he bore on his head that water, which purifies the worlds up to Brahma. He offered them royal garments, jewels, perfumes, and delicacies like betel leaf and nectar. Then Bali, who is also called Indrasena, held the Lord's feet with devotion and praised the Lords, admitting that such a vision is nearly impossible for those bound by the qualities of passion and ignorance. Bali pleaded for their grace, asking to be freed from the cycle of sin and to find a permanent home at their lotus feet, far from the darkness of the world.

Krishna spoke of the six sons of Marichi and Urna, gods of the first Manvantara who had laughed at Brahma when he desired his own daughter. For that offense they were born to the demon Hiranyakashipu; then Yogamaya placed them in Devaki's womb, and Kamsa killed them. By Krishna's grace these six—Smara, Udgitha, Parishvanga, Patanga, Kshudrabhrit and Ghrini—would be freed from the curse and reach the good destination again. Rama and Krishna brought them from Bali's realm to Dvaraka and gave them to Devaki, who wept with joy, held them close and nursed them. Drinking her milk, which Krishna himself had drunk before them, they regained their true selves through that contact with Narayana's body. Bowing to them all, they left for the abode of the gods as everyone watched. Those who hear the stories of the slayer of Mura find peace and reach the eternal abode.
